Course Description
The NCFE Level 3 Award in Education and Training is an introductory, knowledge-based
qualification designed for individuals looking to start a career in teaching or training. It suits
those with no prior teaching experience as well as those already delivering training who want
formal recognition.
Learners develop an understanding of the teaching and learning cycle, how to plan inclusive
lessons, and how to assess learners effectively. The qualification helps build the confidence
and knowledge needed to deliver engaging sessions and support diverse learners across
various education or workplace settings.

No work placement is required for this qualification. All study and assessment activities are
completed online.
However, learners must complete a micro-teaching session as part of the course. This is a
short teaching activity where you deliver a 15–20-minute lesson to a small group of peers or
colleagues to demonstrate your teaching skills. The session can take place in a physical
classroom or virtually online using video conferencing tools. It provides practical evidence
of your ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate a short teaching session.
